Annabel Woolmer - Liberal Democrat candidate for Shefford

I’m the Liberal Democrat Candidate for Shefford for the Central Bedforshire Council election on 4 May.  I’m a new member of the Lib Dems.  I joined because I was concerned by the lack of a liberal
voice in UK politics since the 2015 General Election.

As a military spouse, I lived in Chicksands, Shefford between 2008 and 2010 and have been back since 2015.  I’ve seen changes, both of the good and not so good.  I am keen to use my experience of living in several different areas to bring different perspectives and ideas.

I am a Mum of two and spend my time juggling childcare, my work as a children’s cookery writer, and politics.  My flexible working hours mean I can put in the time to make a difference.

I believe we are stronger, safer and more economically successful if:

  • We work with our neighbours in Europe;
  • We aim for a fairer society, with opportunities for all;
  • We develop housing and business within a sustainable local plan;
  • And we listen to local needs when making decisions.

So, vote for me, on 4 May if you want:

  • School places, shops, facilities and services to match new housing developments;
  • Better access to opportunities and amenities, car or no car;
  • Someone who will stand up for what you want in your local community.

Together, let’s build a sustainable and ambitious future for Shefford.
